For the Public

Are you looking for a great place for a scenic picnic, an adventurous bike ride, or a peaceful walk? Visit our reserve sites.

Guided Tour of Rush Ranch Guided Tour of Rush Ranch In addition to being valuable habitat for endangered species and vital sites for research within the San Francisco Bay, China Camp State Park and Rush Ranch Open Space Preserve are also great recreational destinations. China Camp is renowned for its 14 miles of hiking and biking trails, many of which feature dramatic views of the Bay. Rush Ranch offers a quieter scene, with two trails that meander along the edge of the marsh and one that follows along the ranch's hillside. We occasionally offer guided tours of the reserve sites. Please check the "Announcements" on the home page or contact our Education Department for upcoming programs. Both sites are open for the public, for specific regulations and maps please see China Camp State Park website or the Solano Land Trust website for information about Rush Ranch, for directions to the reserve sites, visit the "Reserve Sites" page.

Coming soon: With grants from NOAA's National Estuarine Research Reserve and the California Coastal Conservancy, the Solano Land Trust is building a nature center and caretaker's residence at Rush Ranch. The building will feature exhibits about the wetlands and wildlife at Rush Ranch and changeable exhibits that highlight current research at the reserve.

What can you do to save the bay?

There are simple steps you can do to reduce pollution in the Bay, like taking your car to the car wash instead of washing it on the street or returning unused and/or expired medicines to the pharmacy rather than disposing of them yourself. Visit Save the Bay's Keep it Clean website to learn more.
